For the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, which begins next month, Bangladesh has unveiled a 15-person roster. Mahmudullah, the star player, has been left out. In the group stage of the recent Asia Cup, he scored 25 and 27 points for Bangladesh. Many players have rejoined the team, including Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, and Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Apart from Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim, who just declared their retirement from T20Is, Anamul Haque, Mohammad Naim, Parvez Hossain, and Mahedi Hasan have been withdrawn, making room for Nazmul Hossain, Liton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, and Hasan Mahmud to be included.

Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, and Soumya Sarkar have been named as the reserves.

Shakib Al Hasan returns as Bangladesh T20 captain and has been selected captain at least until the T20 World Cup later this year. His first duty as a captain in his new role was a failure in the Asia Cup 2022.

Bangladesh leaves out a few players from the group that competed in the Asia Cup when the Tigers fell short of expectations. In the group stage, they were defeated twice, once by Sri Lanka and again by Afghanistan.

Ahead of the World Cup, Bangladesh will play a tri-nation T20I series in New Zealand.

In the super 12 rounds, Bangladesh will play five matches, where the first match will be played on October 24th, followed by the 27th, 30, and November 2nd and 6th.

From the Super 12 rounds, the top two teams will qualify for the semifinals which will be held on November 9th and 10th. The last and final match will be played on November 13th at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
