Australia Players To Train In Adelaide After England Tour

Australian Men’s Team Would Return To The Country Via South Australia:

The Australian men’s team, which is currently playing a limited-over series in England, will return to the country via South Australia.

Cricket Australia expressed its sincere gratitude to the South Australian Government, the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority, and the South Australian Cricket Association for confirming accommodation and training arrangements for the Australian men’s squad following the tour of England.

The Government of South Australia has accepted Cricket Australia’s comprehensive plan, which will include all players and staff staying at the Oval Hotel in Adelaide on their return to Australia.

Players and staff will be able to practice at the Adelaide Oval during their stay to prepare for the summer ahead. Nick Hockley, Cricket Australia’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, said the announcement was a major step forward in preparing for the 2020-21 international season.

“We would like to thank the South Australian Government and the South Australian Cricket Association for their acceptance of CA ‘s request for the return of the Australian men’s team,” Hockley said in a statement.

“CA is committed to a healthy and prosperous summer, and today’s agreement with the authorities in South Australia is a positive step towards that. “The health and welfare of the South Australian community is our top priority and a guiding principle in our planning.

“Global travel at the time of a global pandemic poses many problems, and we greatly appreciate the efforts of everyone in the SA Government, SACA, and CA to work constructively and cooperatively through them.

“There’s so much to look forward to this summer, and a lot of work going on behind the scenes to make sure that happens. Today’s announcement will allow the Australian men’s squad to remain comfortably in Adelaide while still retaining their training loads for the next big season.”

South Australian Prime Minister Steven Marshall said, “Cricket Australia and SA Health have both worked hard to make this possible, and today’s announcement will pave the way for a big cricket summer right here at Adelaide Oval.”

Keith Bradshaw, SACA’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are delighted to be able to support the Australian men’s cricket team on their return to South Australia and Adelaide Oval at the Oval Hotel.

Rest assured that we have undergone extensive procedures with Prime Minister Steven Marshall and the SA Government to ensure the safety of both the public and the players. “Our hope is that the Oval Hotel will continue to be used for the good staging of international cricket this season.”
