AUS vs ENG T20 Series: Stoinis returns to the squad after suffering a side strain. While Richardson and Agar slot back in after being rested from the ongoing West Indies series.

Australia has recalled all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, along with paceman Kane Richardson and spinner Ashton. For the T20 series against England in the leadup to the World Cup.

Selectors have decided to rest their first-choice attack of Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood, and Pat Cummins, as well as all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, for the first of three matches against England in Perth on Sunday.

However, the team stated in a media release on Thursday that all four will be available for selection for the second match in Canberra next week.

Cameron Green is retained in the squad for the England series but is not expected to play in the World Cup. Australia will defend on home soil from Oct. 16 to Nov. 13.

Australia has plenty of options ahead of their T20 world cup defense and chair of selectors George Bailey said it was vital for his team to be fresh heading four-week event that starts later this month.

Bailey quoted, “The High-Performance team and selectors have planned these matches to ensure our squad gets to the World Cup fresh and ready to perform”. Some Squads traveled early to Perth for the kick-start of the preparations slightly earlier. The main squad and a hand full of the others will not make the trip to Perth. With some players remaining on the east coast, it provides further opportunity for Nathan Ellis and Daniel Sams. Who both performed well in India as well.

Selectors have drafted in leg spinners Mitchell Swepson for the Perth game, the only player not retained in the World Cup Squad that won the Tournament in the United Arab Emirates last year.

Australia beat the West Indies by three wickets in a warmup match played at the Gold Cost on Wednesday. Captain Aron Finch Top Scoring with 58 at number four in an encouraging return to form.

The Host will again meet West Indies in Brisbane on Friday.
