Asia Cup 2022 Super 4s PAK vs SL: Pakistan Wrapped Up at 121 Under 20 Overs

PAK vs SL 1st innings updates: The dress rehearsal for the final of Asia Cup 2022 between Srilanka and Pakistan is ongoing and the match has gotten us hooked. The teams that have played some extraordinary cricket are playing the last match of Super 4 and will meet again in the finals on the 11th.

After winning the toss, Srilanka opted to field first. That brought Pakistan to set a target for them to chase. The Babar Azam’s team scored 121 runs in the first innings after losing all its wickets within 19.1 overs.

It’s the end of the first innings for Sri Lanka. The Pakistani hitters finish significantly below average due to a sluggish approach and weak cricketing application. Rizwan and Babar began cautiously, and when the keeper batters felt to the debutant Madushan, Pakistan retreated even farther. Fakhar and Babar’s batsmen continue to struggle as the spinners spin a web around them in the middle overs.

Sri Lanka’s three spinners gave 60 runs in their 12 overs while scooping up six wickets. Wanindu Hasaranga was the clear winner, demonstrating once again why he is such a highly regarded player. Nawaz hit a couple of lusty knocks in the end, allowing Pakistan to finish with 122 runs. Below par, but something to play for in their speed batteries!

Pakistan could not play for the total of 20 overs as they were dismissed within 19.1. The team in the death overs managed to score 30 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. The highest partnership of the innings was between Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman who contributed run a ball 35 runs to the innings.

Madushanka bowled the 17th over of the game and gave 7 runs in the over. No wickets came in this over. A total of 8 runs and a wicket came off the 18th over of the innings bowled by M Theekshana.

The 20th over of the innings was bowled by Pramod Madushan and he dismissed the last batter from Pakistan on the very first ball wrapping the whole team for 121.
