ASIA CUP 2022 SUPER 4 AFG vs SL: Afghanistan Looks Forward to a Big Total at Halfway Mark

Sri Lanka Vs Afghanistan 1st Inning 10 Overs Updates:

The first match of the Super 4 between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka is here and we cannot be more excited for it. In the highly anticipated contest where a lot is at stake, for not just the participants but the other teams as well, we are all in for the drama. Here in this artricle we look at Sri Lanka Vs Afghanistan 1st Inning 10 Overs Updates in detail.

Winning the toss, Sri Lanka decided to field first giving Afghanistan a chance to set the target to chase. Working on the same, Afghans have scored a total of 83 runs in the first 10 overs at the loss of only 1 wicket.

During the first 6 overs, the batting team scored a good 49 runs with the loss of only 1 wicket. Zazai who came in to bat with Gurbaz couldn’t stay for long as he was dismissed in the 5the over by Madushanka. It did not affect the way Afghanistan played as there was no jolt in the batting. The team continued to take benefit of the powerplay restrictions and scoreboard ticking.

The 6th over was bowled by Hasaranga who only conceded 3 runs in it, keeping new batter Zadran in control. He continued the spell to bowl the 8th over and conceded 9 runs in the over. The batting team now had started to pick up some pace as they were not affected by the bowler’s variations.

8 runs came in the 9th over bowled by Karunaratne. There was a false chance of being caught behind but Chamika’s over-excitement cost Sri Lanka a review in the over. A total of 5 runs came in the 10th over bowled by Hasaranga. There was no fall of the wicket after the fifth over.

The bowlers may have been trying their best to control Afghanistan but this team looks rock solid and it looks like they are looking for a big total tonight. A lot of work still needs to be done by Srilanka to put pressure on the batters. All that can help them is wickets.

At the end of 10 overs, Afghanistan’s run rate is 8.30. The projected score at this rate is 170+. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran are at the crease now.
