Asia Cup 2022 PAK vs HK 1st Innings: Pakistan Makes Comeback as Rizwan, Khushdil go Berserk in Death Overs

Asia Cup 2022, PAK vs HK 1st Innings Updates: The do-or-die contest between Pakistan and Hongkong is ongoing and we are all excited about it. The much-anticipated contest to decide who will be the second team after India in the Super 4 has Pakistan batting first and they have scored a total of 193 runs in the first innings at the loss of just 2 wickets. Hong kong needs to chase 194 for the win.

After winning the toss, Hong kong elected to field first. Nizakat claimed that since they play on slow, low surfaces at home and rely on their spinners, Sharjah’s low and slow court is ideal for them.

During the death overs, Rizwan and Khushdil stole the show and made up for what looked like slow innings from Pakistan. The batting hit so many boundaries that it looked like they were playing kids. The duo scored 55 runs in the last 3 overs.

In the last five overs, Pakistan managed to score a whopping 77 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket. The highest partnership of the innings was between M Rizwan and Zaman who contributed 116 runs to the innings. The century stand between the two changed the game for Pakistan.

Ehsan Khan bowled the 17th over of the game and conceded a decent 9 runs from the over along with the important wicket of Fakhar Zaman. But that was not enough to control the Pakistan side, the fireworks started just after that. In a very long over, that included all kinds of mistakes from the bowler, 18 runs came off the 18th over.

The 19th over of the innings was bowled by Ehsan who tried to control things from the other end and conceded just 8 runs. The 20th over of the innings was bowled by Aizaz Khan and it was an expensive one. Khushdil went berserk as he hit 4 sixes to ensure 29 runs came off the over.

The run rate at the end of the 20th over is 9.65. Mohammad Rizwan scored the highest number of runs 78 by hitting 1 six and 6 fours in 57 balls.
