After the completion of 20 overs of the 9th T20 match of Asia Cup 2022, Team India’s total score is 173 runs for the loss of eight wickets. During the death overs, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant made a minimal contribution by scoring 17 runs each individually. Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, brought the hopes back with this good batting attack against the opponents despite the team’s loss of two immediate wickets. He scored 72 runs in just 41 balls.  

In the last five overs, the blue army managed to score 46 runs for the loss of four wickets. The highest partnership of the innings was in between Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav who contributed 97 runs to the innings.

Wanindu Hasaranga bowled the 17th over of the game and was successful in controlling India’s momentum by conceding just 5 runs. No wickets came in this over. A total of 17 runs and a wicket came off the 18th over of the innings bowled by Sri Lanka’s skipper, Dasun Shanaka.

The 19th over was bowled by Dilshan Madhushanka who took two wickets by removing Deepak Hooda in the first ball of the over and Rishabh Pant in the third ball. Throughout his spell, he conceded just 24 runs and plucked three wickets at economy of 6.

The 20th over of the innings was bowled by Chamika Karunaratne and it was not an impressive one. He took Bhuvneshwar Kumar out of the crease in the third ball for a golden duck. Indian ace spinner, R Ashwin, kept the momentum going on by scoring 15 runs off 7 balls.

Rohit Sharma from India scored highest number of runs by hitting 4 fours at a strike rate of 175.61, while Madushanka from Sri Lanka showcased a skilled pace attack by taking three crucial wickets – Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Deepak Hooda.
