Asia Cup 2022: India Set To Defend Asia Cup Crown

The Asia Cup 2022 is scheduled to begin on August 27 and run through September 11, with Team India all set to defend the Asia Cup crown.

When the 14th edition of the marquee event was played in 2018, India defeated Bangladesh by 3 wickets to win their seventh title under stand-by Rohit Sharma.

This time, Rohit Sharma will be leading the side as a full-time captain with the defending champions starting their campaign on August 28 against the arch-rival Pakistan.

In the high-voltage game, team India will be eyeing revenge when they face their neighbors as when the last time both met Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2021.

The men in blue will play their second league match against the last entered team Hong Kong on Wednesday at the Dubai International Stadium.

The top two teams from both groups will further advance to the super four leagues, where all four teams will play against each other and finally the top two teams amongst them will play the finals on September 11 at Dubai International Stadium.

Asia Cup 2022 Format?

For the second in the history of the Asia Cup, the marquee event will be played in T20 format.

Asian Cricket Council took the decision of changing the format from 50-over to T-20 to help teams getting ready for the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup taking place in October this year in Australia.

Asia Cup 2022: When and where to watch?
