The rumors of a rift between Indian skipper Virat Kohli and off-spinner Ravi Ashwin have been constant talks in the social media. Ashwin is termed to be one of the most reliable bowlers in Test cricket but missed out the opening Test with West Indies at the North Sound in Antigua.
Ashwin’s omission from the test raised quite a speculations between the experienced players. The former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was unhappy with the move taken by Indian Team and stated that he shouldn’t have been benched bearing in mind his numbers.
In the meantime, the speculations on Virat and Ashwin’s relationship have been doing the rounds for quite a while. In the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL), Ashwin was caught by Kohli after which the former smashed his gloves in anger. Later, Ashwin tried to explain the matter in the post-match press conference, which suggested that there’s something fishy.
“I just played with passion, so does he (Virat). That’s it. As simple as that,”- Ashwin said.
Looking on to the recent omission of Ashwin, Nick Compton, the cricketer turned commentator, opined on the issue. He stated that there’s a personal difference between Virat and Ashwin.

The rumors on the relationship between the two cricketers have gone to a side with the Picture posted by Ashwin. He has posted a picture where he and Virat are having fun in the middle of a river. The picture also has Anushka Sharma, KL Rahul, and Mayank Agarwal.
Ashwin captioned the picture and wrote, “Seaside plus sunset is a deadly combination.”
