Tanveer Sangha delivered an outstanding effort with the ball for the Sydney Thunder in their Big Bash League (BBL) match against the Melbourne Stars. Andre Russell of the Melbourne Stars has recently heaped appreciation on Sangha. Russell sliced the ball onto the wickets from the bowling of Sangha at one point during the game, however, the bails did not fall.

Russell stated that the ball struck the stumps pretty hard and that he was relieved to be in the middle. Russell also described Sangha as a bowler with a beautiful heart, and he appreciates spinners who aren’t hesitant to deliver to big hitters like him.

“The ball hit the stump like hard, happy to still be batting and have a laugh about it. I commended him and I said, ‘Listen, you have a big heart and I like spinners that are not afraid to bowl to big hitters’,” said Russell after the conclusion of the match.

Tanveer Sangha just has a bright future: Russell

Andre Russell went on to say that Sangha was mixing up the pace beautifully and delivering into his body. Russell finished by saying that the young 20-year-old Sangha does have a long path to go in his cricketing journey, noting that Sangha has a promising future.

“He was doing really, really well, (bowling) into my body and mixing up his pace as well. I observed that about him, he just has a bright future. He’s not afraid to bowl in the power surge over to me… he did well, so hats off to him. He has a long way to go and if he can be doing this now, he’s just (got) improvement to come,” concluded Andre Russell.

Andre Russell hit a powerful 22-ball 43* to inspire the Melbourne Stars to defeat the Sydney Thunder by 6 wickets in their match.
