The rivalry will be continued again and both teams are looking to conquer the trophy this year around with a match-winning squad. There is no calm among fans after ICC announced that both neighbouring nations are in the same group.

Many pundits have claimed India and England to be favourites for the upcoming tournament but Shoiab Akhtar backed his countrymen to win against a strong Indian side. Pakistan pacer has explained how pitches in UAE can favour India and Pakistan as it has similar home conditions.

“I have a feeling Pakistan and India will play in the T20 World Cup final and India will lose to Pakistan. Conditions in UAE will favour both India and Pakistan,” Shoaib Akhtar said on the YouTube channel.

Shoaib Akhtar is looking very confident even after not winning any matches in the World cup against India. Currently, the reign leaders are India with an 11-0 scoreline. There are high chances India will be facing Pakistan twice in the tournament and Rawalpindi express is confident that Pakistan will finish the winning streak of team India this time.

India has faced Pakistan only once in the finals of the first edition of the T20 World cup. MS Dhoni-led side has won the match by 5 runs after Misbah Ul Haq couldn’t execute scoop as expected and S Sreesanth took the catch to bring the India T20 cup home. Later in 2009, Younis Khan took the responsibility and Pakistan won their first T20 World cup.

T20 World cup is expected to be starting around 17th October in UAE and OMAN. And Here are the groupings which were announced by ICC earlier.

Grouping Stages: 

Round 1:

Group A: Sri Lanka, Ireland, the Netherlands and Namibia
Group B: Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Oman

Super 12s:

Group 1: England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, A1 and B2.
Group 2: India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, A2 and B1.
