Opting to bat, Sydney Thunder made not the last game’s mistake and went on to start the game with a steady note.

They posted 39 on board when their first batter left the crease.

Alex Hales, however, remained strong from one end, and continued to score well, he wanted a good support from the other end as well, but international star Rilee Rossouw also left the crease early after scoring just 13 off 14.

Oliver Davies and Hales then added a valuable 63 for the fourth wicket, and Hales completed his 50 in the process.

He was playing well at 68 but got trapped in Colin de Grandhomme ball and was caught.

Strikers were in decent position with 136 on board in 17.4 when Oliver left the middle, but the side then only managed to add more 14 and hence posted 150 in 20 overs.

Henry Thornton and Colin de Grandhomme bagged 2-2 wickets for Adelaide Strikers, while Rashid Khan took 1 wicket.

The table-toppers failed to make a perfect start for the run-chase, as Jake Weatherald got out during the first ball of the third over.

Matthew Short and Chris Lynn, however, steadied the ship for the Strikers and collected 83 runs for the second wicket.

Matthew Short remained the aggressor in the partnership and played a knock of 65 in just 44.

Chris Lynn struck 28 off 26 before walking back to pavilion.

With 41 more required in 33 deliveries, Adam Hose and Colin de Grandhomme then made the work done for their side and helped the side win the match by 6 wickets.

Nathan McAndrew was the pick of the bowler for Sydney Thunder as he bagged 2 wickets while giving 25 runs in 4 overs.

With this win, Adelaide Strikers stayed on top of the table with 3 wins in 3 games and 6 points. While Sydney Thunder, who recorded their third loss in 4th game is at sixth place.
