“I’ll play Big Bash and see where we sit after that,” says Aaron Finch

Aaron set to play BBL before retiring from International cricket

Aaron Finch’s News: After competing in the 2019 Big Bash League, Australian T20 captain Aaron Finch says he will decide whether to continue playing for Australia internationally (BBL).

With tough innings against Sri Lanka, the right-handed hitter struggled with form during the World Cup.  He did, however, make a slight comeback against Ireland, scoring 63 off 44 balls in what might have been his final international innings. Later, a hamstring injury prevented him from playing for Afghanistan.

Aaron Finch On Big Bash League

Following his team’s failure to advance to the knockout rounds, the 35-year-old made these comments when speaking with the media. “No, I’m not going to retire. Not just yet, I’ll play Big Bash and see where we sit after that, but I’m still enjoying playing cricket, playing T20.”

He further added “There’s not another international T20 until August, so there’s quite a long break, still plenty of time to be able to weigh all that up. It’s been a pretty good ride regardless of what happens. Any time that you, I suppose, start to think about it then the end will be one day closer, there’s no doubt about that.”

The fact that Australia doesn’t have any T20I series scheduled until next August and that Finch declared his retirement from ODI cricket in September means that Finch won’t be playing in international cricket for a while, which is why he is willing to participate in the Big Bash League.

Australian Head Coach Speaking about mistakes made in T20 World Cup

McDonald Australia’s Head Coach “We have only got ourselves to really blame. We will go through what that looks like in terms of building towards the next World Cup. There will be some natural turnover because of the gap and space and also the age profile of the team. So there will be some people that get some opportunities, albeit next August when we play T20 again.”

Australia’s T20 Campaign

Although just dropping the opening match to New Zealand and having the match vs England postponed because of rain. Australia failed to advance to the semi-final stage. According to the net run rate, the Australians placed third in Group 1.

Australia’s Next Games?

Four days after the World Cup final, Australia will play England in a three-match One-Day International series. McDonald Australia’s head coach suggested that their tournament’s early conclusion would indicate that a stronger-than-anticipated group will be picked. Last month, Pat Cummins was named the new ODI captain. However, it is unlikely that he will play in every series.
