5 Players Who Might Switch IPL Teams Next Season

5 Players Who Might Switch IPL Teams: The IPL is a platform that provides opportunities to youngsters. There have been many IPL beneficiaries, be they Indian or overseas. Many careers have been resurrected thanks to the IPL. Hence it becomes imperative that players get a chance to play in the IPL. The team combinations are such that not all players get a chance to prove themselves.

It is one of the main reasons why players prefer franchise that gives them a chance to feature in the XI. If they fail to do so, players show keenness to move to different teams.

We look at 5 such players who might switch IPL teams next year:

#5 Chetan Sakariya

He had an impressive IPL 2021 through which he was picked for the national team too. Chetan Sakariya made his mark with Rajasthan Royals in a pre-dominantly left-arm seam attack. He backed up variations beautifully across the innings.

The Royals management was particularly happy with Sakariya. But the mega auction forced them to release the youngster. Delhi picked Sakariya in the mega auctions. But he couldn’t force his way through the side on a consistent basis.

#4 Kartik Tyagi

Pretty much like Sakariya, Kartik Tyagi too flowered at Rajasthan Royals. He bowled arguably one of the finest last overs in IPL history in IPL 2021. Tyagi looked like a fine prospect clocking top speeds consistently. He was developing into a solid death bowler. RR had to let go of Tyagi ahead of the mega auctions. Hyderabad picked him in the mega auctions. But sadly he hardly got a game to impress.

#3 Rassie Van Der Dussen

He is one of the best limited-overs batters in the world. But the IPL hasn’t yet been kind to Rassie Van Der Dussen. He averages 77+ in the ODIs with his T20 numbers also being a top draw. RVD is part of the RR squad. He prefers to play in the top 4 across formats. But RR is a top-order heavy side. They already have quality players playing out of position in the top 4. Hence it is highly unlikely that he will get games frequently at RR.

#2 Srikar Bharat

He had a coming-of-age season in IPL 2021 with Royal Challengers Bangalore. The franchise trusted Srikar Bharat to play at the crucial number 3 spot. He came good on the faith shown with solid performances. But the mega auction forced RCB to let go of Bharat. Delhi picked up Bharat in the auctions. It seemed a strange move as they already had quality top-order players. He hardly played a couple of games for the side.

#1 Shahrukh Khan

He was one of the most hyped uncapped players who stepped into the mega auction. Shahrukh Khan was expected to fetch big numbers in the mega auction. Punjab Kings bought him for INR 9 crores. But Khan had a season to forget in 2022.

In a team filled with power-hitters, Khan hardly found his bearing. He gave the impression of not being interested to play for the franchise. It isn’t a place to be in if the player is just going through the motions as Khan did in IPL 2022.
