Road Safety World Series 2020: India Won First Match With Sehwag’s Dazzling Half-Century

Road safety world series 2020 has started on March 7 by former cricket legends. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Brett Lee, Virender Sehwag, Tillakaratne Dilshan, etc will be seen on the grounds again in this series. The main objective of the series is to bring road safety awareness among people. 

The first match was held between India legends and West Indies legends in Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. As the people were facing the fast-spreading virus, there were doubts about the response of people. But throwing the fear aside stadium packed with people to watch their legends play.

Legend Sachin is leading the India Legends-Team while Brian Lara leading the West Indies team. Toss won by India legends team opted to bowl first. Then the West Indies team started batting with opener Shivnarine Chanderpaul scoring a half-century(61), Daren Ganga(32) and Brian Lara(17). Even though Brian Lara stayed brief in the crease but he showed people what he came for with the best of his shots making 4 fours. The Caribbean team scored 150 runs with 8 wickets loss in 20 overs. Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, and Pragyan Ojha took two wickets each.

In second innings master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar entered with Virender Sehwag who is desperate to play with Sachin. Both legends chased 83 runs for the first wicket in the 11th over when Sachin dismissed after scoring 36 runs. The crowd got silent after his dismissal. Then,  India’s wickets started falling with Kaif and Goni got out cheaply. But with Sehwag’s impressive performance of 56-ball 70 and with help of Yuvraj’s nine rums made India Legends win with 3 wickets loss and 10 balls remaining. Karl Hooper took two wickets for West Indies.

So lets us understand the objective behind these legends coming forward again for action. The next match is going to held between Australia Legends vs Sri Lanka Legends at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai – 7 pm.
